Soma Games isn't able to use the license in the manner I want... so ill brainstorm more about it and see how to promote this idea and talk to the original license holders
My ideas are simple so I will use the latest available game creation technology to make a proof of concept!~
I will develop the game to be FREE using modern tools available!
it MUST be:
3D
Online Massive Multiplayer + SINGLE PLAYER / LAN as well!!
For KIDS+
an Earth Like universe with 4 seasons / moon / sun
What animals do in nature (besides eating other land animals etc?):
FISHING
Foraging
Helping anything in distress (heal something, remove debris from a river, build something to aid another animal [see: Daily Quests])
Gardening
COOKING - No meat, possibly fish / insects .. nutmilk .. spices
FEASTS/FESTIVALS - like the war effort in WoW, but players donate to make a FEAST, and instead of a dragon head hanging in town, players get a buff or something and the feast itself is a party!
Brewing
Auction House
Building places to live!
- player "homes" would be easy and animal related, natural/ medieval stone/wood/dirt/fire/metal .. no big tech
- players mark a "site" and establish a camp or Burrow entrance that leads to an instance home
*INSTANCED* Daily Event windows:
Procedurally generated instances
- Aid other animals
- Kitchen cooking .. prepare the meal in time!
Player Achievements - scoreboards?
"Mission board" adventures
Card Game in game
Player music / raves /
Player Emotes
Musical instruments for players like LOTRO / AC2
Crafting and tailoring, especially fiber armor / dyed cloth / shell, maybe even glass or jewels / mining with moles
Tailoring is a huge skill
Mole Engineering is huge
Squirrels help build too
Bird - fast travel
Carving and Mining into the earth and using earth as a tool, along with stones and wood.. to make items and craft bigger things that fit into the world, like Valheim but using animals and their abilities to scale the task
... building your own tools is a start, building your own gear / defensive stuff, ropes/ladders..
